Tennis seems to be so boring without Djokovic and Federer these days. Agree or not but Murray doesnt have that charisma that Federer/Nadal has brought to the table and to a certain extent Djokovic these days with his funny personna. No doubt, organisers want them to play. My favorite thesedays is Djokovic for his unbelievable streak this year and the way he has sweated it out to do the unthinkable.
If you want to read, here is a good article i found while surfing the net for exciting tennis coverage: http://bit.ly/qTlozk : Djokovic and His Success Secret: Worth reading!

djokovic n federer be back soon...they are camping in cornwall.

@ Sandy:
or r u Chris or Christina or Apeksha .....????
You are back again with your "blah blah blah..i was surfing the net and found this interesting article....."

Posted by Matt - Allez, Roger! Come on, Serena!

Everything is so boring without Roger and Novak.

Now do we realize how important it is for us to appreciate Roger while he's here? The game simply won't be the same without him.

We'd be better off just handing Andy the trophy right now.

Matt, don't be so fast handing Murray the trophy. Kei is red hot, and either spaniard will be capable of winning the title on Sunday. Fed is getting old and less motivated, no matter he says. Sooner or later, we will have to do without him.

only whiners like to whine about fed because fed is the king of the whiners. artists do not trump great competitors except in the loser/whiner's eye.

Is there a repeat function on this site where I can just say, "Great writing, Steve, loved it" over and over again? :)

Late late late but I love these notebook posts. :)

Windowgate. LOL.

Shallow I realise but the sheer physical beauty of a Lopez-Ferrer semi-final will draw me in. :)

i would love to see Nishikori win his semifinal match later. It would be very interesting 2012 for Asian players.

Thank you for praising Nishikori's tennis. He finally came out from tragic injury. Nishikori played at his best against Dolgopolov and showed his fun and smart tennis to the world.

Sadly in Japan, tennis popularity has declined so much that there is not much coverage about tennis any more.

Nishikori is the only hope for tennis fans.

nishikori has a nice game - efficient technique and now good tactics as well. a nice combo of bollettieri and gilbert, like come to think of it - agassi. and he's a good competitor too - great heart and never-say-die attitude.

good to see him fulfilling his potential and especially as the lone good asian in the lone asian master's tourney. he may surprise us today ..

it is boring without Novak around to amaze us. Wish I'd seen Ferrer's last couple of matches, though.

Kei is exciting. Both men are hitting widely, wildly.

Steve, I think I know the very school with screaming kids you mean. Last night two neighbors of mine were complaining about that very thing. They do sound like it's a break at the Screaming Banshee Academy.

Tallboyslim...kindly IGNORE @chris/apeksha/sandy...
maybe,then,he/she will stop posting that link and stop "irritating" you!

Interesting that Mayer was sick in his match against the other Flo. That, plus the toll of taking an extra large scalp, probably was enough to do him in. Even against Pretty Boy Flo.

nice write up. Wish I'd seen Kei-Dolgo instead of watching Florian Mayer (formerly of Kraftwerk) have an off day. David may not be exciting, but he's as tough as they come, and he deserves a big title. As much as I love Murray and prefer his tennis, I want Ferru to win tomorrow.

since you mentioned challenge 'ethics', there was a moment in the Feli-David match when David successfully challenged a call despite a "that was totally out" raised hand from Feli. The commies were divided as to how innocent Feli's gesture was (fwiw, I give him the benefit of the doubt, and I don't even really like him).

also, for anyone who was confused by the reference to Florian's artistic past (don't let the surname fool you)

tennis in japan will become more popular with your new project45 bloke.

***oh dear those federer / djokovic withdrawal symptoms are getting worse for some of you... theyll be back soon...any news on djokovic back strain ??.

"Now do we realize how important it is for us to appreciate Roger while he's here? The game simply won't be the same without him."

I've been saying the same thing for the last four years, but people were too much in love with Nadal. Baaad mistake. Huge.

I have not missed Roger so much, as I missed Novak playing in China. Tennis is not the same without Djokovic and his charisma.

Lillian

I have not missed. anybody in Asia but I missed the best game of Nadal
Please Nadal, come back soon, the tennis looks different and boring when you don't play your best!!!!!!
